Evidence Record: Scalp Sun Protection, UV Boundaries, Head Coverings, and Wig Heat

Purpose: trace the patient-level sun-protection claims used in WigLab’s sun/UV routing and explicitly record what those sources do not establish about wig materials.
Source 1 — National Cancer Institute

Does not support: any SPF/UPF rating for wigs, any claim that synthetic fiber blocks UV, or any safe temperature for wig fiber.

WigLab keeps three branches separate: (1) exposed-skin UV protection uses patient/skin authority; (2) hat-over-wig compression, friction, and comfort route to fit/headwear guidance; (3) heat and fiber behavior route to the exact wig manufacturer. We do not infer SPF/UPF from coverage, density, cap type, or fiber type without an exact product claim.
