WigLab FAQ
HOW DO I WASH A SYNTHETIC WIG?
Use this WigLab Method when it does not conflict with the current directions for your exact wig. Rinse with cool running water, work CLEANSE gently for 90 seconds–2 minutes, rinse thoroughly, towel-blot, mist 4–6 sprays of CONTROL onto damp lengths and ends, then air-dry. If the maker specifies a different wash method, follow the maker. Do not scrub, twist, or wring.
CAN I USE REGULAR SHAMPOO OR CONDITIONER ON A SYNTHETIC WIG?
Regular human-hair products can coat or stiffen synthetic fiber. CLEANSE and CONTROL are built as a two-step care system for synthetic wigs.
WHAT DOES CLEANSE DO?
CLEANSE is step one: a synthetic-wig shampoo used during the cool-water wash to clean the fiber without turning to a human-hair routine.
WHAT DOES CONTROL DO?
CONTROL is step two: WIGLAB CONTROL — Synthetic Wig Post-Wash Spray. It manages damp synthetic lengths and ends after washing. Keep it away from the cap, lace, knots, and adhesive areas.
HOW OFTEN SHOULD I WASH A SYNTHETIC WIG?
Wash when buildup or odor tells you it is time. There is no honest universal wear-count; pay attention to what you see, smell, and feel on the fiber.
CAN I USE HEAT ON A SYNTHETIC WIG?
Avoid heat unless the exact fiber is confirmed heat-friendly. Follow the stated temperature limit for that wig. If the fiber or limit is unknown, do not use heat.
HOW DO I DETANGLE A SYNTHETIC WIG WITHOUT DAMAGING IT?
Support the hair and work gently from the ends upward. Use a wig-safe tool, reduce avoidable rubbing, and never force a snag.
SHOULD I SOAK MY WIG WHEN I WASH IT?
There is no universal soak rule. The WigLab Method uses cool running water and no soak; some makers specify a short cool-water soak. Follow the current directions for your exact wig.
WHY DOES THE NAPE GET FRIZZY AND TANGLED?
The nape takes repeated friction from collars, shoulders, movement, and handling. Detangle gently, reduce rubbing when possible, and do not assume more product can reverse permanent wear.
WHAT IF I DO NOT KNOW WHAT FIBER MY WIG IS?
Identify the fiber before choosing care. Check the tag, packaging, receipt, maker, or seller. Until you can verify it, do not apply heat or guess at a wash method.
