How to Reduce Static and Frizz on a Synthetic Wig

Answer first: do not treat static and frizz as one problem or reach immediately for heat, fabric softener, oil, or a random anti-frizz product. First decide whether you are seeing temporary static, friction-related tangling, buildup, or fiber wear. Then use the least aggressive method that is actually compatible with the wig you own.
Separate static from frizz and matting
Static often looks like flyaways, cling, or fibers lifting away from the style and may worsen with dry conditions or friction. Frizz and matting are more often surface-and-wear problems: rough fibers, repeated snagging, fuzzy ends, or a nape that tangles after contact with collars, scarves, seats, or skin. Those symptoms can overlap, but they do not justify one universal treatment.
Start with friction and handling
If the problem is strongest at the nape, shoulders, or other contact zones, reduce the friction source before adding product. Use a product only for a documented job

What not to do
Do not assume fabric softener is a validated anti-static treatment. Do not use heat simply because the fibers look fuzzy; heat capability depends on the exact fiber and manufacturer method. Do not coat the wig with household oils or heavy human-hair products just to force flyaways down. Do not keep brushing harder when resistance is concentrated in one worn area. And do not apply conditioner or detangler blindly to hand-tied or base areas when the product instructions warn against that placement.
Unknown wig? Use the conservative fallback
If you do not know the brand, model, fiber, or heat capability, treat it as unknown synthetic: avoid heat, aggressive chemistry, and heavy product buildup; use low-force detangling while you identify what you own. If static improves when friction is reduced or with a documented synthetic-wig detangling method, stay conservative. If roughness, fuzzing, or matting quickly returns in the same location after correct care, move to Normal Wear or Real Damage? rather than escalating products.
Know the limit
Synthetic fiber does not self-repair. Care may improve manageability, static, tangling, or buildup, but permanently roughened or deformed fiber may not return to its original surface or movement.
