Can You Steam a Synthetic Wig? Steam Is Still a Fiber-Specific Reshaping Decision

DIRECT ANSWER Sometimes—but steam is still a heat-based reshaping decision, not a universal safe workaround for synthetic wigs. First identify the exact fiber and current manufacturer method. A manufacturer may explicitly use steam for one synthetic fiber while a different wig has different heat limits. If the wig is unknown, treat it as no-unverified-steam until identified. WHY STEAM GETS CONFUSING People often hear “do not use heat” and then assume steam is different because there is no hot plate touching the fiber. That shortcut is unsafe. Steam changes temperature and can change fiber shape.
